Cut a 6" strip of the elastic interfacing. Affix a square of the rough side of the Velcro to
each end. Stitch
the squares firmly to the fabric. Keep the stitches close and tight, as they will need to hold
considerable force. The end result should look something like this:
I recommend using a needle that you don't care too much about. The velcro is very tough stuff,
and you're likely to bend it. Furthermore, as you go along, the needle gets progressively gummed
up with the adhesive goo on the back of the Velcro. The non-adhesive sew-on velcro is not strong
enough however, so it's unavoidable. Keep the thread slightly damp as you go. Otherwise it will also get
gummed up, and you may break it trying to tighten the stitches.
Lastly, firmly press the adhesive soft sides of the velcro squares to the battery box. Place
one on top, and the other down on the side, just under the slot for the Owner's Manual. It should
look something like this:
Now the manual will stay put, and you can still access it easily any time you need.
That's it! You're done.
